I could not be more excited! Vinnie Pearce is so talented and one of the nicest people I know (via cyberspace!) and I could not be more honored to be working for her. I can't believe this dream has come true! Also, with the addition of FOUR new designers plus a guest designer at Pixel Canvas there is a need for a larger CT!!! How is a girl to survive without her beloved laptop for a whole week!? I had been putting off getting my computer fixed for some time now, but just couldn't handle it anymore and had to hand it over to the pros for an entire week. Thankfully, my husband is a smart man and always buys the warranties. always. Even when I think it's a waste of money. I'm very thankful now though! So, I definitely caught up with my housework during my time away from the computer. HAHA...yeah, right. Our house is currently a disaster as we work on repairs, packing boxes & putting fresh coats of paint on the walls to make our house look shiny & new for our big move. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we sell our home quickly and for the right price. Keeping it clean for all the showings is definitely going to keep me on my toes...or at least get me off my hiney!

So lately I feel as though I've hit a bit of a scrapbooking rut, or more like a blockade/brick wall of sorts when it comes to my creativity! I would say this happens about every two weeks or so! Yikes, that's a lot! Templates always seem to boost my creative mojo back into action, so here's another for you. I think I'm completely hooked on paper blocking and the hand-cut look and I'm also quite fond of these high contrast b&w photos right now. I'm sure it's just a phase, I went through a sepia/chocolate phase for a loooong time! I hope you enjoy this template and are able to put it to use! I loved seeing people's beautiful layouts in the galleries! Link me up if you'd like, I'd love to see your artwork and leave some love on your pages!

On a personal note, we have begun packing our house!! Where we are moving, we don't know!! Haha. So the adventure begins...packing is no fun except for the hidden treasures that you find accumulated in your house in the most remote and bizarre locations! We love Portland but hubby is applying to law school so we won't get to be here too much longer. We will miss the amazing parks, laid back atmosphere, and most importantly, the French toast from Mother's Bistro.

So, I'm sitting in the airport headed to surprise my family for a short trip to Kansas City. I feel a bit lost at the airport thus far. I'm not chasing children, it didn't take me forever to get through security, I'm not carrying 14 children's bags stuffed with toys that will prove to NOT be entertaining once on the flight...in fact, I only have my beloved laptop and a Starbucks drink. I miss my kiddos terribly already though! Don't I have a wonderful man? My dear hubby surprised me with tickets to surprise my own family AND he is watching the kids while I'm gone. I'm so in love with him!

a little jaunt to the park...

The sun still shines in Portland. Who knew!? We took full advantage of the beautiful bright rays today (although it was still cold) and let the kids play at the park. The kids most definitely did not want to leave, that is...until I enticed them with glorious glasses of chocolate milk.

On another note, Ikea Goddess (digital scrapbooking freebie superblog!) picked up my template! I was so excited!

Winter Wonderland

Soooo, hi! This is my first attempt at maintaining a blog and let me tell you. I am scared. I know it's going to be one of those things where I have the greatest of intentions, yet it will be severely neglected, much like my poor dog Zeik. I mean, he's not neglected per se, but seriously lacking in attention. Eeek. So here goes...a few recent happenings. The weather here has been crazy. Though it rarely snows in Portland, we've had almost a week of random spurts of snow. Of course, in between the white fluffy winterdom, it reverts back to dreary, rainy, grayness. But we are taking full advantage of the white droplets whenever they choose to appear! Our kids now have proper winter attire (not in the following pictures, but they are full-on ski bunnies now after a quick trip to Babies R Us) and are enjoying the snow or is it just exiting our front door? I'm not sure which one they are more excited about.

Needless to say, this outdoor jaunt didn't last long.

Also, I've recently joined a couple fabulous creative teams. I am the lucky one, believe me!! I am on the creative team for the talented and oh so very nice Vinnie Pearce. Vinnie sells her designs at Catscrap.com. Also, I am on the creative team for Leah Riordan. I am stoked! I honestly couldn't explain to you how excited I was to have the opportunity to create for these wonderful ladies. However, I'm not sure who was more excited...me, or Jason. Me because hey, it's dreamy. Jason because I wasn't breaking the bank anymore. :) Hey, a girl's gotta have her hobbies and after all, it's all for the sake of memory keeping!!

So anyway, soon I'm going to try to figure out how to make this thing look pretty (in my massive amounts of spare time), but thanks for stopping by!
